Expatriates in Peru

Haha, this picture cracks me up, although it has nothing to do with this article. I just used it because it was funny. There’s nothing like seeing guys dressed up in toxic gear happilly waving to you from the top of a fire truck.

Anyway, the reason I’m writing is because a friend of mine just started up a facebook group called Expatriates in Peru. This is not to be confused with expat Peru which is essentially a web page for old farts who want to feel superior about everyone and who don’t keep their word. Expatriates Peru seems to be the first in a very necessary step of breathing a little youth into the expat life here in Lima. You see, as more people get fed up with various situations in America, I believe we will be seeing a larger and larger exodus to places like Peru, where you’re still allowed to have a beer without showing six different forms of communication. Perhaps, in time, there will even be a relaxing expat American football league where old guys like myself can run around and remember lost days of glory without, hopefully, destroying the old body too badly.

So, let’s keep an eye on this Expatriates in Peru thing and see where it goes, I’m expecting grand things!

More and more I see people are moving to countries that are not such control freaks as the US. The misguided and hopeless war on drugs is a great factor.
