I took this video a couple months ago of the band Novalima performing in Asia. Novalima is one of Lima’s most popular bands. They’re currently on some kind of world tour (I keep getting e/mails about how they’re performing in Europe or whatever at my livinginperu.com account).

Like everything else in Peru, Novalima is one of those “fusion” groups that attempts to blend traditional Peruvian rhythms with modern sounds. It’s a good idea (it worked with the gastronomy industry here in Peru).

Unfortunately, however, my camera tends to have a pretty crappy sound quality when I use it to record a performance (I think KISS blew it out entirely with their fifty foot speakers). But, this video gives you the general idea, so enjoy!
