Although Machu Picchu remains the most common reason for visiting Peru, Lima’s gastronomic revolution continues to draw worldwide fans. When I was working with LivinginPeru.com, one of my main tasks was to sample and promote the gourmet restaurants that kept popping up all over the city.
Honestly, it’s pretty tough to have a sub-par meal in Peru. They take their time with their cooking and their eating and they appreciate every second of it. However, if you want to be assured of hitting all the top of the charts restaurants of Lima, you’re probably going to need a guide.
I’ve written before about the Lima Social Group, and now Erica has started up a culinary tours page at Delectableperu.com. I haven’t actually tried their service, but I know Erica and I think this would be a great way to spend your extra days in Peru. Heck, I used to just drag people around and stop at every random restaurant from the Ovalo de Miraflores to the Ocean (and I never had any complaints).
