Walter Rhein & Dan Woll Chippewa Library Book Presentation

chippewa falls

I am pleased to announce that I will be giving a talk along with my co-author Dan Woll at the Chippewa Library on Monday, February 18 at 6:30 PM. It is a free talk, and we will be discussing our latest release, Paperclip, from Burning Bulb Publishing. The book is a suspense/thriller based on historical events.

Dave Wood, the former books editor for the Minneapolis Star Tribune and past Vice-President of the National Book Critics Circle states:

I warmly endorse the continuing efforts of Dan Woll and Walter Rhein for their latest novel, “Paperclip.” Unsettled, stirring. drama-laden—“Paperclip” is written with gusto, good humor and a knowledge of the panoply that is America, as the authors take their three gifted characters from youth to adulthood. How can you resist a book that opens with a guesser who is always right? “Paperclip” begs for a read, a sequel, and a movie.”

Our talk is entitled Writing and Marketing a Thriller: Wisconsin Authors Find Success, and you can check out the Facebook event here. We are particularly interested in having local writers attend the event to discuss achieving a greater platform for local talent.

There will be a biographical component to the presentation and I will include some slides from the years I spent living in Lima, Peru, as well as the Choquequirao expedition I did with Peruvian Olympian Roberto Carcelen, and World Champion cross-country skiier Martin Koukal.

I will also briefly mention several articles that I’ve written lately that have received some media attention. I’ve included links to them here so you can reference them either before or after the talk. They are:
